1. How does my child know his or her appointment time?
Your child should have received a letter
at home advising him or her of the scheduled appointment time. If he or
she did not receive a letter, call Amy Roberts at 931-309-7717 and she
will be able to advise you of the time which your child is scheduled to
arrive.
2. Is there a cost for having photos taken?
There is a sitting fee for Senior portraits.
For the Deluxe package, the sitting fee is $45. This includes formal,
full length casual, close up casual and outdoor casual poses. Your child
has the option of changing outfits up to three times and you will
receive 30 to 40 proofs of your child's photos. For a sitting fee of
$55, your child can receive the Custom Deluxe package. This package
contains all of the same poses as the Deluxe package, however up to four
outfit changes are allowed and you will receive 45 to 55 proofs.
Additionally, this package includes 8 complimentary wallets with the
purchase of a Senior Package, a free Family Session with Lifetouch, and
a $20 credit towards any Senior Package.
3. Where are the photos taken? Your
child will have his or her photos taken at Martin Methodist College at
the Gault Arts Building. The easiest route to this building is to turn
right onto Fourth Street just past Burger King. At the four way stop,
turn left and the Gault Building will be on your right. You may park on
the street or there is additional parking at the Johnson Center, which
is to the right of the Gault Building.
4. When will my child receive his or her proofs?
Proofs will arrive in the mail generally 4
to 6 weeks after the shoot. Please advise the photographer if you have
had a change of address within the past year. The address that was
provided to Lifetouch was the address which GCHS has on file for your
child. If you did not receive your appointment letter in the mail, then
there is a good chance that the address which your child provided to the
school is no longer valid and needs to be updated with the photographer
at the time of your session.
5. What if my child is an athlete and wishes to have photos taken in
his or her uniform? Many of our athletes
do choose to have photos taken in uniform. If students wish to have
photos taken in uniform, then they need to obtain the materials from
their coach and bring it to their photo session. Football and baseball
players wishing to have photos taken at Sam Davis Stadium, even if their
appointment time has already been scheduled for earlier in the day, are
asked to wait until 4:00 on either Wednesday, May 23 or Thursday, May 24
to arrive for their photo session so that the photographer will have
ample time to travel to Sam Davis for casual photos and will not keep
other students who are non-athletes waiting.
6. What if my child is unable to have his or her photos
taken during the days scheduled at Martin Methodist College?
It is imperative that your child have his
or her photos taken this summer if at all possible. If for any reason a
student is unable to have photos taken during the portrait days
scheduled at MMC, then you may call 615-628-8600 to schedule photographs
at your convenience at either the Franklin or Smyrna Lifetouch studio.
Additionally, there will be make-up Senior portraits taken at GCHS on
Sept. 21, 2012, however your child will not have as many background
options and the number of casual photos will be reduced.
7. Is my child have to have his or her photos taken with Lifetouch
or can we go to an independent photographer?
In order to appear in the school yearbook, The Crest, your child
must be photographed by Lifetouch for both formal and casual photos. We
can no longer accept any outside casual photographs for the yearbook.
You have the option of having your child photographed with any
photographer of your choice, however you may not be aware that for every
photograph that is purchased through Lifetouch, GCHS receives a portion
of the proceeds for every sale. That money is put right back into your
child's school to purchase items to enhance your child's classroom and
learning environment. Some items purchased with the funds generated by
picture sales include Promethean boards, projectors, calculators, etc.
8. Who can I call if I have additional questions?
You may call Lifetouch at 615-628-8600 or you
can contact Amy Roberts, GCHS yearbook advisor, at 931-309-7717.
