General Information and
Procedures for School opens at 7:20 a.m.
Children will enter the building and go either directly
to breakfast in the cafeteria or to the gym until 7:50
a.m. Please remember that if you drop your child
off in the morning it is best for your child if he/she
walks in alone. If you walk your child inside, it
often makes it harder for your child to see you leave.
All children need to be at school before 7:50 a.m.;
if your child is late, please sign him/her in at the
office. All money and\or notes will be taken up
first thing in the morning (between 7:40-7:50). Please
remember to send all money in a sealed envelope labeled
with your child's name, amount, and class. Kindergarten children may
leave daily at 1:00. If your child will be a
"one o'clocker," please send a note so we will
know to watch for your arrival. If your child will
be staying all day, he/she will need an individually
wrapped snack daily. Popular snacks include: crackers,
cookies, Little Debbie cakes, dry cereal, sandwiches,
pudding, yogurt, etc. Your child will also need an
individual drink sent daily (such as Capri-Sun, juice
jug, Kool-Aid, etc.). Please label your child's
snack and drink every day. Please remember--no
candy, no cokes/sodas, and no glass bottles. All
children staying past 1:00 will lie down for a rest time
and will need a sleeping mat. Please do not send
pillows, blankets, or stuffed animals as these can carry
germs and/or lice. Chilren staying all day
will be dismissed at 2:35 p.m. Bus riders will be
walked to the appropriate buses. Car riders will be
escorted to the gym to be picked up. If your child
will be going home differenty than usual please send a
note. The note should tell if your child will be
riding a different bus, whose house he/she will be
getting off at, and it should be signed and dated. If
your child will be a car rider, please let us know who
will be picking him/her up and a short description of the
car (for example: John Doe will be picking up Jane
today in a red truck.) We know that this seems a
little odd, but we want to make sure that every child
gets to the right place. If you are not able to
send a note, please call the school and give the
secretary all of the information. We will be implementing a
new birthday policy. We will celebrate all
birthdays on the last Friday of each month and all summer
birthdays on a Friday in May. For example, all
August birthdays will be celebrated on Friday, August 25.
We will be sending a home a sign-up sheet for each child
with a birthday the month. Each family may send
their items to the office on the morning of the party.
Thank you in advance for helping us make each child's
birthday a special day! In order to ensure fairness
to all children, we ask that any private birthday
invitations sent to school be for the whole class or for
all girls/all boys. This policy helps to minimize
hurt feelings from being left out. Thank you for
your cooperation.
