Bridgeforth Middle School  -- School Nutrition News

Welcome to 2011-2012

The School Nutrition Department welcomes you to another school year.  We appreciate all our teachers and school staff and thank you for joining us during breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria.

New Technology Program

The School Nutrition Department will begin a new technology starting August 2 in all cafeterias.  Students will enter a 4 digit code into a key pad at the cashier station in the serving area of the cafeteria.  The 4 digit code will be the last 4 numbers of the student ID number or Stars number.  Several schools were currently using those numbers for accelerated reader programs, so it was suggested this was the preferred number to use.  We are asking teachers to give each student their last 4 numbers from their student ID from stars.  Cashiers will be able to identify students, balances, allergies, and any restrictions as students move through the line.  We will no longer use cards nor give balance due papers from the cashier.   There are many features that I know everyone will like once we get started.

The new technology is replacing a system that was 20 years old.  This new system enables families the ability to apply on line for free/reduced meals at https://schoolmealapp.com and also enables parents to have a web site to review student meal purchase history, view account balances and make payments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at www.parentonline.net

School Nutrition is a Self-Supporting Department

School Nutrition is responsible for all expenditures needed to produce student meals.  The money we collect from students, teachers, and visitors along with the money from reimbursable USDA meals pays for salaries, benefits, food, equipment and everything needed to produce student meals.

Just Let Us Know …..

We want to be a part of the school.  The next time you have a special event whether it is during school or afterwards let us know.  We would love to participate if we can.

We can also be a great resource for your classroom.  By making arrangements ahead of time we can work with you to serve as a learning laboratory or have samples of food you are studying if possible.  Just ask!

No Increase in Price of Meals!

For the third year in a row, we have held the line on the price of school meals. Teacher/ Staff prices are $1.25 breakfast and $2.50 lunch.  We can accept prepayments for your account by either cash or check.  You can pay by the week or month to give you more time at lunch.
