    RENAISSANCE PLACE

Home ConnectRenaissance Place has arrived at Bridgeforth! Click here to go to Renaissance Home Connect where parents can sign up for immediate email information regarding the quiz that their child just took and their child's comprehension progress as the school year goes along. You will log on to Home Connect using your child's username and password. This has been given to them by their teacher.

After you have logged on, click the word email in the upper right corner of the screen. A box will appear prompting you to type in your first name, followed by your email address (retyped). Then after clicking the ADD button, you will receive a notice from Renaissance Place to your email. When you respond to this notice, your are then linked up to all your child's Accelerated Reader activity and will receive emails whenever he takes quizzes.

If you have a problem or questions about the process, call Mrs. Curtis, 363-7526, or email her, (bcurtis@giles.k12.tn.us), and she'll be glad to help.
Remember to login to our OPAC for a greater level of access to renew your own books from home, read full text books from our library on your home computer, make book recommendations to other students, create and save your own bookshelves, and much more!

General Mills Box Tops for Education

Congratulations to Mrs. Britton's homeroom!

Mrs. Britton's homeroom turned in the most Box Tops (718) at the end of February and, as a result, enjoyed breakfast treats during homeroom time. Other homeroom totals are: Abernathy 20; Herd 376; Marks 130; Reedy 105; Gerlach 107; Goolsby 627; Wallace 68; Witt 135; Salisbury 308; Butler 137; Long 150; McCullom 410; Newton 17; Shelton 27; S. Wiser 119. Totals other than homerooms are: Eubank 174; Adkins 187; Taylor; 41; Alexander 73.

Thanks to all who save these for our school. We will receive a check from General Mills in April for more than four hundred dollars, which will buy new informational books for our library.

Start saving now for our next turn-in, October 29, 2013.
We hope to set a new record for our totals next year!

Remember that there are hundreds of General Mills products with these little coupons on them, and each is worth ten cents.

    Donations --
In Honor Of
and In Memory Of

Our library has received many donations in both categories: "in honor of" and "in memory of."   It's a wonderful way to honor your child on his/her birthday, your child's teacher, a community leader or anyone you'd like to recognize in a special and lasting way.  You would make a donation to our school in whatever amount you desire, and we would choose an appropriate book to purchase, something that fills a need in our collection.   Many times the donor has a specific book title or subject area to recommend for purchase.  Once the book is purchased, a special bookplate containing donor and other information will be placed in the front of each book, and each one will be a lasting tribute.

If you would like to have a book placed in our library "in honor of" or "in memory of" someone special,  please get in touch with Mrs. Curtis.
